Hailing from St Petersburg is Evgenii Khmel who established himself in the drum & bass scene as Black Barrel and in recent years has been making waves in the dubstep scene under Leo Cap. He’s performed under both aliases across the world, played at the biggest clubs and events including Fabric, Let It Roll, Rampage, Outlook Festival, Star Warz, and toured Australia and New Zealand just before the world went into lockdown.

Black Barrel is currently exclusively signed to Dispatch Recordings and his music has also made its way onto labels such as Metalheadz and Sofa Sound where he is also a resident. In 2018 he dropped his debut album, the murky Last Frontier, and he’s since kept the momentum going with countless singles and EPs. His recently released second LP, Just Keep My Life, signals a movement away from the dancefloor orientated techy dnb he’s become known for and it illustrates his ability to express himself within the full spectrum of the genre. He’s had support from some of the biggest names in the scene and has some exciting collaborations lined up as well as many releases including 3 EP’s and 2 singles for Dispatch and lots of remixes.

Leo Cap is relatively a new name on the scene, but he came in with quite a bang. He’s been shown support from some of the scene’s ‘heads’ including Truth, J.Sparrow, N-Type & J.Kenzo to name a few. He’s had some successful releases on labels such as Deep Dark & Dangerous, Pavan’s Darkmode and DUBRAW and has many forthcoming releases lined up on Navy Cut, Deep Dark & Dangerous and Wheel & Deal.
